It's Official

We just got official word that we, as state employees, will be mandated to take 2 days off a month without pay (AKA: furlough days) which will result in a 10% salary cut for the next 18 months.

Bad News: 10% pay cut

Good News: 2 Additional Days Off per month to love, play, and enjoy my beautiful baby!!! Am so excited! Can't wait!

From Our Family to Yours!

Shocking... but a pleasant surprise!

That's how I felt when I looked in the mirror at the end of my hair appointment today. :) A much needed change from the white horns of hair coming through my blonde. After having Tana, all the hair around my face fell out and grew back WHITE... so needless to say, I needed a change! I know it's a bit shocking at first, but am starting to get used to it and it has only been a few hours. For those of you who didn't know me in high school, or for those who don't remember - this is actually my natural hair color! WOW! Different. I know. he he he.

Tana had a little bit of adjustment to the hair. She was really frightened at first, she had just woken up when I walked into the room. She stared at me with wide eyes, then started crying with a very mixed reaction on her face. Finally, when I spoke she smiled for a moment, cried, then smiled again. :) Now she's fine... she keeps trying to eat my hair (I think even more than usual).

2nd Place!

Thank you to everyone who voted for Team Tana and her Halloween picture! We had an amazing rally of votes! She ended up taking 2nd place to Kamaka, the little pirate! :) He had a very tough team to beat - they did great! :) We are thrilled to receive a $100 photo credit for 2nd place! We'll be getting Christmas pictures so look for yours in the mail! YAY!!! I will post pics soon!

100th Post!

What could be more perfect for a 100th post than celebrating Tana turning 6 months old!!!

WOW! I can't believe how fast half a year has already flown by!!! Tana had her 6 month wellness appointment today. She's still a very healthy girl! AND... she gets to start rice cereal tomorrow - YAY for her!!!

Height: 27 1/4" (95th percentile)

Weight: 18 Pounds (90th percentile)

Head Circumfrence: 43 1/2 cm (75th percentile)

Rained Out

We were supposed to go have our holiday family pics taken today but we got rained out. Imagine that. It NEVER rains here - probably hasn't rained since last February and it decided to rain this morning... just in time for us to leave after taking hours to get ready. Fun. :-/ Instead of getting photos taken outside, we snapped a few with our camera, and went to brunch! Much more fun! Professional pics to come in the mail at Christmas but just wanted to give you a couple teasers! :) ENJOY!

A Girl's Best Friend

Howie is THE most devoted puppy to Tana. He LOVES his baby girl! He comes up and sits next to her as she takes a bath or shower - hasn't missed a single bath/shower yet! If she cries, he comes running looking very sad/nervous/curious. When she naps at home, he naps right beside her! The other night I was on the computer so I laid Tana next to me on the couch and when I got done, I looked over and saw the baby and her best friend snuggling! Notice the paws overlaying her feet and hand - sooooo cute!!!

Halloween

Fall

I LOVE the fall when the days are still long, warm with cool nights, and the leaves change color. It's one of my favorite times of year - that's actually one thing I miss about Utah - it has the most gorgeous fall season! I took a pic of the tree outside our yard as it was changing colors and the deep red leaves had fallen. The puppies share in my love with Fall - they go out every morning and bask in the morning sun while lounging on the chairs and blankets. Here's a few pics of them enjoying the crisp morning air. These are some of my most favorite pics of the puppies! I love them!

October Fun

Tana is 17 lbs and 5 months old! Hasn't grown much in weight in the last 8 weeks... I think it's partly due to being at daycare all day - she kind of refuses to eat and doesn't sleep much these days either. She'll eat eventually - when she gets hungry enough. She thinks she can sit up and enjoys being upright. She still loves her toes, or little piggies, as we call them. She loves music and even enjoys her mommy seeing totally off-key!

In an effort to do ONLY family activities on Sundays, Mike and I took Tana to the pumpkin patch today! We each got a pumpkin to carve next weekend. Can't wait to see how they turn out - of course, will post pics. We are loving October and all the fun outfits!
